Gabo: does this need to be an app?
Gabo began as a hackathon project to help two people plan a date in Singapore. While building it, I questioned whether using ChatGPT would be easier.
I challenged Codex's suggestions, including partner voting: someone could already paste ChatGPT's ideas into WhatsApp. I asked to examine the whole date journey for problems worth solving.
In later revisions, I simplified the form, removed presets that assumed food and budget preferences, and clarified gaps in venue information.
The question I'd encourage other builders to ask is: what does this help someone do better than simply asking ChatGPT? For Gabo, that remains something to test.
